There are many ways to approach Internet marketing, but probably the best way to build a web-based business that will last, is to build a list of subscribers.  This is also referred to as an email opt in list.

Many other techniques used to make money online, involve finding or creating a product and then finding people to buy that product.  The problem with this approach is that every time you make a sale, you have to find another prospect to buy the next product.

With a list of subscribers, you have a group of people who are interested in the business you are promoting, and all you need do is gain their trust, and recommend products to them.  It sounds easy, but it is far from easy if you don’t have the right approach.

To build a list, you first need to build a web site where you can offer your visitors a free gift.  This can be a report, video or audio file, or eBook that your visitors will be prepared to give you their email address in return for the gift.  It is commonly referred to as an ethical bribe.

I mentioned earlier about gaining your subscribers trust.  Well the first thing you need to do is provide something of value.  If it is not perceived as valuable, your subscribers will probably not think too highly of you.  On the other hand, a worthwhile gift that provides your subscribers with some answers or guidance will more than likely have them feeling good about you.

Once you have someone join you opt in email list, it is vital that you come across as a trustworthy person.   You need to be professional, but not distance yourself buy trying to appear above them.

A mistake I see regularly with many marketers is the minute someone subscribes to their list, they are bombarded with sales letters on a daily basis.  Sometimes more often than once daily.  Your list of subscribers will develop trust in you if you can continue to offer value to them, without necessarily asking them to buy.  Once they have developed that trust, it is much more likely they will take your advice when you recommend purchasing a product.

A great way to build a relationship with your subscribers is to provide them with weekly or two weekly newsletters.   This could be on a variety of subjects within your area of interest.  If you can provide interesting information within your newsletters, your subscribers will soon consider you someone that is providing them with value.

Building an email opt in list, or subscribers list can take a little time.  But with the correct approach, a good plan, and a bit of hard work, it is probably the soundest way to success in building an Internet business that will last for years to come.

Building a list of subscribers is a crucial fact of every online promotion. Let say that you already have a list of a 1000 or more subscribers. You must be aware that a list of subscribers is like a goldmine of any online business. But You probably heard that before, so be nice to your list.

By this I mean, if you’re already sending them new offers why don’t you send them a free gift now and then.You can send them ebook, a small report about something or simple text message where you explain some ”hidden” tip or trick you know or a link to some ”gurus” presentation. But never forget to include your website or squeeze page link at the bottom of your message (don’t forget about your own business).

You can be good and nice, but don’t be ”to nice”! By sending them a free stuff you build a relationship with your subscribers on more personal level and this is crucial. You get my point?

Applying this techniques list building becomes easy and more profitable. I still remember two of the experts (I don’t like word guru) that have helped me a lot with their free informations and gifts. I bookmarked them then, and now and then I still visit their sites to check what and how they’re doing. And if I see information with a good content that could rise my personal online business to higher level, I don’t see a reason why not purchase that offer from them. And here is the answer why should you treat your subscribers with care.

If you’re nice to the list, the list will respond the same. They’ll come back more often.

Another point in my article is content of a message that you send to your list. In one of my email accounts I have over (you wouldn’t believe me) 2000 unread messages. Mostly low content offers and stuff I haven’t even subscribe for. But that is not bothering me I use them for different purposes.

If you are sending offers to your list always make sure that content is relevant to content that your subscribers have sign for through your opt in page.
